Our Story

Hi,

I’m Dempsea Vlamis, the founder of movED Active, a brand born from one of the most challenging seasons of my life. 

For a long time, I struggled deeply with my self-image, constantly comparing who I was to who I thought I should be. I fell into the trap of believing I had to look a certain way before I could feel confident, worthy, or enough. During this time, movement stopped feeling empowering. Instead, it became a chore driven by numbers, appearance, and the suffocating feeling that I always had to be more. Somewhere along the way, I forgot that movement was supposed to make us feel alive, not trapped.

As I began rebuilding my relationship with movement, I had a realisation that changed everything: movement isn't something we should do because we dislike our bodies, but because we appreciate them. This profound shift became the very foundation of movED Active. I didn't create this brand simply to make activewear; I created it to build something with a deep sense of purpose. My goal is to foster a community that reminds people they don't have to become someone else to be enough—a space where movement stems from self-respect rather than punishment, where confidence is measured by how you feel rather than how you look, and where progress is always celebrated over perfection.

I know one brand can't change the world overnight, but if movED Active can help even one person feel stronger, more confident, or more comfortable in their own skin, then it has fulfilled its purpose. My hope is that every time you put on our activewear, you are reminded that you are already enough, even as you continue to grow into the strongest, healthiest, and most authentic version of yourself.

Our tagline "Move Toward You" is so much more than three simple words. It is a daily reminder to move toward confidence, strength, courage, and self-belief. It is an invitation to step toward becoming the person you are truly meant to be—away from perfection and comparison, and toward becoming more entirely yourself.
